There’s something special about mornings in Portland, especially when they’re spent outside, moving together, and building community.
Recently, the EllyPop team had the opportunity to partner with the Duniway Bike Bus, a growing movement that brings families, students, and neighbors together for a joyful, active ride to school. And it was everything we love: community-driven, kid-focused, and rooted in wellness.
What is the Duniway Bike Bus?
The Duniway Bike Bus is part of a larger Portland movement focused on safe, community-based transportation for kids and families. Instead of traditional school drop-offs, students ride together in a group, creating a “bike bus” that’s both fun and empowering.
It’s not just about getting to school, it’s about:
- building confidence in kids
- encouraging movement and outdoor time
- strengthening local community connections
And honestly, it’s just really fun!

We joined the ride to support the Duniway Bike Bus community and share EllyPop with families along the way. Seeing kids show up with excitement, energy, and big smiles reminded us exactly why we created EllyPop in the first place.
